Virtual Desktop - Install Microsoft Remote Desktop app for Windows to access Azure Virtual Desktops

To get started with Azure Virtual Desktops, download and install the Microsoft Remote Desktop app for Windows from the Microsoft Store.

To access Azure Virtual Desktops from a Microsoft Windows computer, use the Remote Desktop app. Please note: This is a separate application from the traditional Remote Desktop Connection application. 

Install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client

1. On your Windows workstation, open the Microsoft Store.
2. In Microsoft Store, search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop".
3. From the search results, click the tile for Microsoft Remote Desktop.
4. On the Microsoft Remote Desktop details screen, verify that the publisher is "Microsoft Corporation".
5. Click the blue Get button to start download of the Microsoft Remote Desktop app.
6. Wait while the download and installation process completes.
7. Click the blue Open button to launch the Remote Desktop app.
