POLICY STATEMENT
As of September 1, 2020, without grandfathering, all courses wishing to have a group final examination will have to submit an application to a sub-committee of Faculty Senate in order to hold a group final. These applications are to be submitted by department chairs simultaneous to the course schedule submission for the semester in which the group final is first requested. Approval will be granted for three years after which the process will need to be repeated.
A group final will only be permitted if the following conditions are met:
- There are multiple sections of the course for that semester, and
- All sections of the course are administering a final with at least 50% of the exam in common, and
- A common final is administered for reasons of program accreditation and/or programmatic assessment.
