Wireless Networks on Campus
- UWPlatt - Use this wireless connection on laptops, phones, and other devices that can connect to a WPA2-Enterprise secure network. Typically laptops, desktops with wireless network cards, and phones can connect to this network. Other device maybe able to as well, depending if they support the WPA2-Enterprise security. This wireless network will be throughout campus and is the preferred wireless connection to use.
- UWGuest - Guests of the UW-Platteville campus (parents or other family members, community members) are able to connect to this wireless network to gain access to the internet. There are some limitations on this network, not all services may work.
- eduroam - Same as the UWPlatt wireless network, with an added benefit. If you go to a different campus/university or international travel and they have an eduroam network, you will be able to login using your UW-Platteville campus credentials to login and use the wireless at that different location. Login will be your home university email address and password.
- UWPlatt-unsecure - Used in the Residence Halls to connect devices that are not able to connect to UWPlatt. These devices will typically be gaming systems, streaming devices, and some tablets.
