Summary
Multi-Factor Authentication [MFA] will be required of guests that need to make a payment using the UW-Platteville payment portal supported by Nelnet Campus Commerce beginning December 4, 2023. NOTE: Because students already use MFA when logging into PASS, they will not need a second one during payment.
Body
Multi-Factor Authentication [MFA] provides increased security when making payments to protect your financial data. Guests must use MFA when making a payment in PASS. They can choose whether to authenticate via a free application on their phone or via email. The first time that guests make a payment, they will receive additional instructions from our technology partner, Nelnet Campus Commerce, on how to set up MFA.
What to Expect:
- Log into PASS with the guest user name and password.
- From the FINANCIALS menu on the left, select ‘Make a Payment’.
- Follow the instructions to set up MFA as provided by our payment partner, Nelnet Campus Commerce.
- If you choose to use an app on your phone, they suggest several free ones to download.
- If you already have an authentication app on your phone, you may be able to use it, even if it is not listed.
- A QR code is provided during the process for use with various MFA applications.
- If you choose to use an email, please use the same email address that is being used for your guest account in PASS.
- Once you have set up MFA, you will be asked to enter a verification code to access the payment portal in the future.
- If you have any questions during the MFA process, please contact Nelnet Campus Commerce at 800.609.8056 for assistance.
