Summary

The ITS Help Desk has technology that students, faculty, and staff can rent for a certain amount of time.

Body

The ITS Help Desk provides faculty, staff, and students access to laptops and headsets as well as a variety of audio-visual equipment to support instruction. Our goal is to serve the entire university as effectively as possible.  In order to do this, we ask that faculty and staff who have access to departmentally-owned equipment use that whenever possible. We also do not take any semester-long orders for equipment.

Loan Periods

All equipment has a 7 day checkout period. Digital cameras and tripods purchased by the School of Education are available to SOE students ONLY.

  • Upon returning a laptop, you may check out another laptop after a one hour waiting period.  Please review the Laptop Borrower's Responsibilities for additional details. NOTE: Effective Spring 2019 fines will be charged for laptops returned dirty, broken, etc. Details have been added to the Laptop Borrower's Responsibilities doc.

**Digital cameras and tripods purchased by the School of Education are available to SOE students ONLY. Loan period for SOE devices is 7 days.

Reserving Equipment

To reserve equipment, contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 or helpdesk@uwplatt.edu. You may also stop by the office on first floor of Karrmann Library. Student laptops are first come first serve, ITS can not guarantee that there will be a student laptop when needed. These laptops are in high usage and may not be available.

Additional Services

  • Equipment set-up and take-down available upon request
  • Training on media equipment or technology-enhanced classroom equipment may be requested through the Help Desk or the online Training Request form.
