Saving Files on Lab Computers

Summary

When working on a lab computer, save files to network storage rather than the desktop.

Body

When working on a lab computer, save files to network storage rather than the desktop. Anything stored on the lab computer itself is not backed up and could be lost if the computer needs to be re-imaged. If you have not logged in to a specific workstation in over 3 days, any data you had stored on that workstation will have been deleted.

To save to network storage, select your USER account on the J: drive (labelled with your username).

You may also save to a portable device, i.e. jump drive, or cloud storage such as OneDrive.
