This doc contains common error message in PASS and the routing for the errors
When a user reports an error message in PASS, the following questions should be asked:
- What account type are they using - applicant, student, staff, guest or parent/guest (student username with a "_" followed by two digits)?
- Where did they see the error? The Login Page or in PASS?
- What URL were they using? We have many instances of PASS: Development (PLTDEV), Test (PLTTST, Quality Assurance (PLTQAT) and Production (PLTPRD); the browser url will state which instance they are in.
Login Error Messages:
This account is locked - The Peoplesoft account is locked, verify the user's e-directory account is not also locked. If it is unlocked but the PASS account is locked, contact a PASS Administrator.
System is Under Maintenance - Check the UW-Platteville Outages Page page to see if PASS is down for scheduled Maintenance. If PASS is not scheduled for maintenance, please contact a PASS Administrator right away. When PASS is in Maintenance mode, no one can log in, with the exception of PASS ITS Administrators.
You Do Not Have Access to This Instance - Check which instance the user is trying to access. If they don't know, guide them to the PASS login page using the Pioneer Portal instead of using a bookmark. If they still receive an access error message, contact a PASS Administrator right away.
LDAP Authentication Lockout - Contact a PASS Administrator right away. This means that LDAP authentication is turned off in PASS, which will prevent most users from logging in.
Your User ID and/or Password are invalid. - Check to make sure the correct user name and password are being used and the account is active, then create an issue and assign the PASS Security Administrator and Network team to verify their account is active.
Authorization Error - Contact your Security Administrator - Verify user name and password work for another application. If they do, contact PASS Security Administrator.
