Navigating the Platteville Data Repository (PDR)

The Platteville Data Repository (PDR) is a Sharepoint site that links to the multitude of dashboards and reports available to UW-Platteville users. These dashboards/reports are created and maintained internally by Platteville Analytics and Institutional Reporting Services (PAIRS), Enrollment Management, the Universities of Wisconsin's Office of Policy Analysis (OPAR), or other reputable sources and are all aggregated in one place by subject for ease of navigation.

The PDR also links all OBIEE reports that are intended to be migrated to our new tools (such as PowerBI) as a part of the OBIEE Migration process. If you are wondering where to find your OBIEE report in the new environment, visit the Knowledgebase doc that crosswalks OBIEE to PDR locations. As the PAIRS team develops the new versions of an OBIEE report, the link will be updated in the same location on the PDR for ease of transition.

The OPAR and internal UW-Platteville reporting linked in the PDR may not always “agree,” and might provide different numbers for similar-sounding data points due to different data definitions “under the hood.” As definitions and scopes may vary, please review the Data FAQ to understand what information exists, and why sources may not always align.

Navigating to Dashboards and Reports

  • The dashboards and reports on the PDR are organized by content subject – Enrollment, Student Success, Admissions and Recruitment, Courses & Classes, Financial Aid, Institutional Info & Effectiveness, and HR & Finance. Click on any of the sections in the header OR the image tiles to navigate to a page.PDR homepage with navigation buttons noted
  • Many subject pages will have sub-pages for further organization. If you see the word “Summary” in the PDR, this indicates that the report(s) include aggregate counts of students. “Details” pages indicate that the report(s) include student-level information. For example, the Enrollment page includes both “Summary” and “Details” subpages to which you can navigate.
  • Many pages have both a Dashboards and a Static Reports section, both of which are collapsible with the carat icon.

    • The Dashboards section will link to the interactive dashboards available on that subject. You can identify the source of the dashboard as it will be prefixed in the link title (e.g., PAIRS or OPAR). You can also see what permissions are necessary to access the dashboard at the end of each description.PDR Page with collapse icon and relevant text highlighted
    • The Static Reports section, lower on the page, will link to a document library of any static (e.g., PDF or Word doc) reports on that subject. Click on any document title to view or download it.
