Go to the Apple menu and choose "About This Mac". The macOS version should be listed within this window.
How do I know what operating system my Mac will support?
Open "Software Update" within System Settings. If no updates are available, and your device is not running the latest macOS version, your device is running the highest supported version* for that device. For more information on the current versions of software for Apple devices, please refer to Apple's security webpage.
*NOTE: If this version is macOS 13, your computer will no longer be supported after October of 2025 and should be replaced. Contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance.
