Student Handbook -- Installing Software in the Office

The following guidelines will be used with regards to installation of any/all software on Help Desk computers.

  1. All software must be approved for installation prior to installation.
  2. Final approval will be decided by the Assistant Support Manager and/or Support Manager.
  3. All software must have the appropriate license for installation.
  4. The installation of illegal software will result in immediate disciplinary procedures for staff. This may include a verbal and/or written warning, suspension of job duties or termination based upon the violation.

The goal of this policy is to keep Help Desk computers as stable as possible and make sure that all software installed on them has been approved, has been documented and has the required licensing.
