Student Handbook -- General Office Procedures and Guidlines

These procedures and guidelines add to the Employee Acknowledgement Form and Policies that you can find earlier in the handbook.

Face Coverings
Face coverings are to be worn in the Help Desk at all times when working within the office. Face coverings are to be worn in all public enclosed / highly populated areas while working as well, this includes going to a classroom or professors office for support. The University (for Fall 2020) has provided face coverings to students, ITS Help Desk will have a limited supply of masks as well that will be distributed during training. I (Josh) will be in contact if EOC/campus policy changes.

Food/Beverages
Food/beverages are allowed in the office. However, all food containers (pizza boxes, pop cans, etc) will be placed in the appropriate container in the lobby or office. Clean up after yourself. (we are working on a designated "lunch room") Try not to eat at the workstations or in front of customers.

Work Reports (Punch Clock)
ITS Student Employee staff are required to keep track of their work time and activities through the online punch clock. Tasks completed/worked on should be placed in the appropriate area of the work of the work record, of the online punch clock, for each hour worked.

Workstations
There will be NO tampering with office workstations. The supervisor’s workstation is not to be used by staff unless express permission is given by the supervisor. There will be NO hardware upgrades or adjustments to workstation unless authorized by the supervisor. Ex: adding CD-rom, harddrive, memory, zip drive. Also please keep personal web browsing to a minimum.

Office/Work Area Appearance
Work areas and the office should be kept clean. Tools, disks, books, etc. should be organized and returned to their proper places after use.

Office Security
Staff will make sure that the office door is closed and locked when they leave the office. All keys will be returned to the key box and locked up. Any students or admin computers we have in our possession will be locked to the counter or secured in some other fashion.
