What is ChatGPT for Business?
ChatGPT for Business is a commercial generative artificial intelligence (AI) tool that can respond to prompts using current Internet data. While it can be a powerful productivity and instructional support tool, its responses may occasionally be inaccurate and should always be reviewed before use.
The University of Wisconsin–Platteville is running a limited trial of ChatGPT for Business for faculty and instructional staff, available by request and while funding permits, or through June 2026, whichever comes first.
Important: This is a trial. Do not rely on ChatGPT for Business to permanently retain prompts, conversations, or data beyond the end of the trial period.
Planning for the End of the Trial (June 2026)
Please plan ahead with the expectation that:
- The ChatGPT for Business trial may end in June 2026.
- Chat history, saved conversations, or custom data may not persist after the trial ends.
- Any content you wish to keep should be saved outside of ChatGPT.
