Brief Summary:

Handshake is Platteville’s one-stop job and career resource for students and employers.

Students can use Handshake to support their career development throughout their time at Platteville. Handshake connects students to their appropriate career coach and shows students information about upcoming career events on campus. Students can also use Handshake to search for part-time jobs while in school, internships, and post-graduation jobs.

Population Selection:

Two Populations are selected:

 

Active Population - Students are sent to Handshake if they are Term Active - Past admissions, have an active program, are ready to enroll or enrolled for the current term and/or next two future terms. All students are selected and sent as a cumulative population. Example, a Student is a New Freshman for the Fall term. After the student is past admissions and ready to enroll, the student would be selected in the Spring and Summer terms before the Fall term starts.

 

Inactive Population - Students who no longer have an active account (NetID/Username) and have been sent to Handshake in the past. The student is only in the inactive file once. Once the student has been marked inactive, they will no longer be selected.

 

A history is kept of who has been sent for both active and inactive populations.

    • School Year Name - Academic Level Description (Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior)

    • Work Study Eligible - True or False if student is Federal Work Study Eligible
