Printing from a mobile device

Tags printing

PaperCut, the University's print accounting software, provides functionality to print to select UW-Platteville network printers from mobile devices. This document links to PaperCut instructional documentation.

When authenticated to the UWPlatt wireless network, PaperCut Mobility Print allows a UW-Platteville account holder to print to authorized network printers from a mobile device. The following mobile device platforms are currently supported by PaperCut Mobility Print:

  • Apple iOS
  • Android
  • Chrome OS
  • Mac OS
  • Windows

Be sure your device is connected to the UWPlatt wireless network. Then, see instructions for setting up Mobility Print on your device on the PaperCut site.

Please note: Not all mobile apps will provide a print option. And, those that do will not implement printing the same way. During our testing, we found a variety of ways to launch printing within mobile applications. Print results also varied by app. We cannot guarantee the same print quality from a mobile device that you would expect from a personal computer. Because of this, technical support and troubleshooting for Mobility Print by the ITS Help Desk and other ITS Staff is provided on a "best effort" level.
