UW-Platteville Information Technology Services (ITS) will be updating the security software used on university-owned computers on Friday, July 14, 2023. Beginning that day, you may see a pop-up message in the lower right corner of the screen from "Cisco Secure Endpoint Tray Client". The message will explain "Version 8.1.7.21417 of the Cisco Secure Endpoint is available" and that it is "downloading and installing the update". No action is required on your part; the process will complete on its own.
After the update
You will notice that the tray icon (icon in lower right corner of the screen) will change from

If you click the icon, you will also notice a change in the associated dialogue box.
