PASS - Run Control ID (Staff)

A Run Control ID is the name you assign to parameters for a process/report. It is recommended that you create a new run control for each process to save parameters and reuse that ID each time you run that process. Instead of entering the same values each time you run a report, you create and save a run control with those settings. The next time that you run the report, you select the run control, and the system completes the settings.

This is a preliminary step that must be completed before you run reports in PASS. To run a report, you must tell the system when and where you want the report to run. Once you complete this series of steps, you will be able run reports as often as you would like with this Run Control ID without redoing these steps.

Run Control IDs are place holders for sets of values within a report.

  • You cannot delete Run Control IDs once you create one.
  • You can change the criteria in each report as often as you wish without entering a new Run Control ID.
  1. Log in to PASS and navigate to the report you wish to run. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. You will see the Run Control ID screen. The name of the report you have chosen to run will be visible at the top of the screen.
  3. To create a new Run Control ID, click the Add a New Value tab.
  4. Type your chosen Run Control ID into the search box. Enter the title/name of your chosen Run Control ID in the field. Note: Choose a title that makes sense and that you will remember. It is recommended to use alphanumeric characters when possible since some special characters may cause conflicts with some products.
  5. Click Add button.
  6. Choose the parameters for your report. If this is a report that you intend to use often, you will want to click the Save button. This will allow you to search for the saved Run Control ID report on the Find an Existing Value tab when you enter the report's Run Control page.
