Running and Connecting the VMware Horizon Client

NOTE: Effective 10.29.21, two-factor authentication is required to access virtual desktops at UW-Platteville.  You will need your Duo device or back-up codes ready when logging in.
If you have not installed the VMware client, refer to document Installing VMware Horizon View Client

1. Open the VMware Horizon Client
2. On campus computers, the server should already be listed. Double click view.ion.uwplatt.edu. For a personal computer, add this server by clicking on Add Server in the upper right corner. When prompted, enter "view.ion.uwplatt.edu".
   
   


3. Enter your UW-Platteville NetID and password. Click Login.
   
   


4. Enter a passcode or one of the numbered options. Click Login. NOTE: The numbered options will vary based on the number of Duo devices you have configured.
   
   


5. Select the desired desktop. NOTE: You will only see the desktops to which you have access. For a list of available software, please see Installed Software - Virtual Desktops
