Accessing Free Microsoft 365 Licenses

Students and employees of UW-Platteville have access to up to five free copies of MS Office applications for use on their personal devices.  This are the Instructions for accessing the free Office licenses through Outlook Web App (OWA).

NOTE: It is recommended that you use a wired internet connection for this process when possible; wireless downloads have been known to time-out.

1. From the device on which you want to install the software, go to the Pioneer Portal.
2. Click the blue Email button.
3. Log in using your full UW-Platteville email address and password.
4. Click on the app launcher (9 dots) in the upper left-hand corner.
   
5. Click on the "Microsoft 365" link.
   
   
6. Click on Install Office then choose the first option in the drop-down, Microsoft 365 apps.
   
7. The installer should start downloading.  You should also see a pop-up with further instructions on how to start the installation process.
8. You will be notified once installation is complete.  Remember to sign in using your UW-Platteville email and password when prompted to validate the license.
